FINALLY - OUR POWER CHAIR

Joe received his power chair today and is busy learning to drive. This chair is made to fit Joe specifically and is so much more comfortable. He is able to drive himself from one end of the house to the other. Here is a picture of he and Wyatt who is able to ride on the back. Stay turned for more "action shots" as we venture outside. Joe continues to make slow progress and was able to sit on the side of the bed for about 1 minute. The goal is 15 minutes. He enjoys visiting with his friends if they can keep up with him.

  2. Hi again Sandy & Yussel. You must feel great now that you are able to "scoot" around in your chair. I know that the minute I hop on my scooter, it's "bye bye" but I leave my phone on since I am already outta sight in just a few minutes. The freedom is simply fabulous. It may take a little time to get acclimated to it, Joe, but it will be very exciting when you do. Just take it slowly since sometimes our reaction time is not as good as it shld be. "Power Off" is a good motto to keep in mind.

Continued improvement, ol' buddy. Regards & best wishes to you both.

  4. Wahoo! Watch that speed now, Joe. The turn by the dining room table is tight - no crashes please! Wish I could come watch Wyatt ride.

New Hampshire turned cold so the riding has been pleasant. We do the 40 mile loop from our house through the towns of Warren, Piermont and Orford, and back. Yesterday we used different muscles and climbed Mount Cube.

    Love to you both, Nan
