Friday, April 10. One breathe at a Time

Joe spent the day refining his breathing skills. It is still a struggle to get a good breathe and clear his lungs. They are using various machines and skills to do this but it is very tiring. He feels like he rode the fastest Kilo event of his life. He also had lots of visitors including nephews Randy and Dan, brother in law, Don and his very close friend Jim Young from Penn.  who is coach of the Penn State Cycling Team. Jim is on his way to Hawaii with his family and had time for a quick visit. Neighbors Ian, Kristin and Wyatt delivered wonderful matzo ball soup from Mark Goldin for a delayed Passover dinner. I got the soup as Joe's swallowing still has to be assessed. Mark it was delicious. I never knew you to be such a good cook. Again, thank you all for your well wishes. I am saving all of them for Joe to read when he can. We are hoping to move up to Kaiser Oakland in the near future.

  1. Hi Joe and Sandy,
Hope you are feeling better, Joe. I know the tendency is to overdo it with the breathing machines since I have asthma and have had to practice breathing with them, but if you relax, it'll come more easily. Glad you are making progress and what great news about your wiggly toes. Look foward to your moving up to Oakland.
    Take care.
