Sunday, Sept 20, One Day Before

Well, it is one day before Joe's 67th birthday and he has a new Toyota Sienna van complete with automatic ramp as a present. We are returning to Vallejo Rehab for an evaluation tomorrow and hopefully a series of appointments for PT. He had a visit from Kurt, Leighanne and Luke Levensaler on Sunday. See picture. Luke is about to celebrate his 1st birthday in October. They have just moved from Portland to Danville CA and we look forward to more family time together. Joe continues to make steady but slow progress. We will update you after we have been to Vallejo. Just another thank you for everyone who supports us daily from the chocolate chips cookies to the Sierra Nevada beer and expert computer advice . Everyone is making our journey better. Love Sandy & Joe

  1. Joe, you look fabulous! I would love to see you in that van. Will have to come back for another trip. All the best, Nan

  2. Joe, the van sounds great. I'd love to see a picture of it, with you inside!

And the family picture looks wonderful. Thanks for sharing it.

  3. Joe, You look terrific in this photo. You will not notice it the way Linda and I do, but everything about you is clearly healthier and stronger than when we visited in July. Maybe you were siphoning a little energy from little Luke. No matter, keep getting stronger.

    Talk with you soon.

  4. Hi Joe,

Wishing you a very Happy Birthday today!

    Erika and Linda

  5. What a great picture!!!! I love that the pic of Sandy is in the background too. A picture within a picture.

Joe you look FANTASTIC! A big happy birthday and a big hug and howl to you from mb, Muzzy Olive and Scooter.

Watch out!!! Joe is hittin' the highway in the new van. I'll be looking for you out there cruising and checking the traffic and weather stations as you go.

  6. HAPPY BIRTHDAY and we love getting the updates. You are looking great! We have a Toyota Sienna minivan, too. Welcome to the club! Big hugs from the windy city! Elyse and the gang

  7. Hiya Yussel,

You look much better w that haircut in spite of the act that you are getting older as you try to catch up to me. Happy b'day, dude. Having the van must be wonderful now that you're able to travel to & fro & see the sights in addition to helping out by doing some of the grocery shopping.

How is therapy going & does the same staff come by the house to prep you in the AM & get you into bed in the PM? How are you driving around in your chair; feeling more competent & comfortable doing this?

I will be sure to include you & Sandy on my list in shul on Monday so we'll all have another year to deal with the stuff on our plates.

All the best to you both again,

    Gene "Rkt" Levin
